5G cell towers one of the more bizarre theories behind COVID-19 spread

Apparently, there's a bizarre conspiracy theory out there that newly-installed 5G communications equipment is somehow contributing to spreading the COVID-19 virus.
I'm not sure what the precise mechanism of this virus vector is - according to Woody Harrelson's Instagram feed, it seems to revolve around the fact that the virus started in Wuhan, China, which also happens to be at the forefront of rolling out 5G technology in China - but it has been spreading rapidly on something called the World Wide Web. And proponents in Britain and elsewhere have responded by vandalizing and burning down 5G cell towers and telecom masts.
It's fascinating how these random campaigns arise out of nowhere, and how they propagate in an already paranoid society.
